Amur tigers are grand predators inhabiting Russian and Chinese Far East. They are not endangered species anymore, but are still very rare. Poachers are the main enemies of the Amur tiger.
These great and beautiful Far Eastern cats are much bigger than those living in India – Bengal tigers, and less aggressive to people.
There is a rare animal in Central Asia known as «snow leopard» or «irbis». It also may be found in Tibet, Southern Siberia and Eastern Kazakhstan. It is a kind of big wild cat living in Asian rocky mountains.
Snow leopards are predators living on wild sheep, goats, hares and even yaks, if they find a stray one without its herd.
Usually snow leopards don’t behave themselves agressively to people, unless being wounded. These animals should be saved from extinction in order to preserve natural balance between herbivores and flora. And it is a beautiful animal by itself.
Snow leopard’s skin is very expensive, that is why there was time when the animal was close to extinction. Maybe, the fact that they prefer to live high up in the mountainous areas that are difficult of access helped them stay alive.

And below you may see two of her kittens, the photo was made two years ago, when they were little. They were given away as a gift to some of my mother’s acquaintances.
This cat was photographed sitting on a tree not far from the center of Moscow, next to the apartment house where my junior brother lives with his wife and children.

Here are three photos of my two cats, I made the pictures last spring and decided to upload these images here because they seem rather funny to me.
And below is her son Moosik:
