The three photographs were made in May, 2011, near Kadamzhay settlement, which is located in Batken region in southern Kyrgyzstan. Not far from the depicted places is the great Ferghana Valley.
Yellow tulips blossom in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan in spring. Their bulbs are sweet and delicious by taste, but they are also very hard to reach for, because they sit tight and deep down in the stony soil.
And below is another picture of mountain juniper growing in Central Asia. It’s a big and wild specimen that is very old already.
